February Schedule Texas Plant and Soil Lab Events and Appearances
February is going to be an action-packed month for Texas Plant & Soil Lab. Here’s our schedule as we know it right now:
8th & 9th – Wednesday & Thursday – “FARM SMART. GROW SMART. – Produce More & Better With Less.” – Texas Plant & Soil Lab’s Fifth Annual Conference On Sustainable Growing Practice. Then following at the same location:
10th & 11th – Friday & Saturday – “Growing Sustainably: The Future of Food” is the 11th Annual Sustainable Ag Conference for Large and Small Food Production hosted by the Sustainable Agronomic Education Association. You can find out about this event at http://sustainableagrgv.org/page2.html But we’ll have to break away on the
10th – Friday to attend the 20th Annual Gulf Coast Grape Growers Field Day. You can find out all about this at http://www.extension.org/pages/62196/20th-annual-gulf-coast-grape-grower-field-day This will be the first time for us to participate in this event and we are looking forward to meeting viticulturists from the Gulf Coast.
16th – 17th – 18th – Thursday – Friday – Saturday – TWGGA (Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association) Annual Conference and Trade Show. Details here: http://www.txwines.org/ This is one of the few “we-absolutely gotta-do” events of the year. This is a first-class event where we always look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.
24th – 25th – 26th – Friday – Saturday – Sunday – the 32nd San Antonio Spring Home & Garden Show. Details at http://sanantoniohomeshows.com/ But we’re going to have to split our crew for most of the day , on the
25th – Saturday for “Olive Cultivation 101”, hosted by Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard, where we’ll be participating in the presentations. You can download the program at http://www.sandyoaks.com/Olives101.pdf and you can find out about other events at Sandy Oaks at http://www.sandyoaks.com/events.html As an aside, we’ve known and worked with Sandy Oaks for years. Saundra Winokur, the proprietor, has a quite nice operation with a very pleasant meeting and eating facility. We were flattered when she asked to participate in this very practical and useful first-ever annual event.
We’ll be exhibiting or presenting at all of these events – bringing useful and practical papers – and our Chief Analyst to answer any questions – for the “in-the-dirt” grower. So, we hope we’ll see you!
This is not a complete schedule, as we present at many local meetings not shown here – mostly Master Gardeners’ groups and other agronomic-related events.
